Friday was catch up day. Had a few maintenance things around the trailer to do. But first off to town to - Karen's Kitchen - for breakfast and then to the hardware store for a piece of molding I needed to repair a wall in the trailer. Back to the trailer and about an hour later I had the wall fixed. Then it was off to get fuel and a WAL MART stop. Also stopped at a used book store and stocked up on books. I had read everything that I had with us.
We stayed home and had dinner at home.
Saturday, off to Grants Pass, OR to the Josephine County Fairgrounds, where the Annual Spring Garden Fair and the Rogue Gem & Geology Club Show are going on. As we walked to the building for the show we passed these small horses. Cute little guys. The Garden fair was plants for sale. Some great buys if you have some place to plant them.
The rock show was really nice, lots of nice displays and lots to buy. We enjoy looking at the displays. The case of intarsia was some of the best I have ever seen. Also the display of obsidian was outstanding. Working large pieces of obsidian is very difficult. In my former life I worked with rocks making spheres, cabachons, jewelery and other items as a hobby.
Got a call from our friends Wayne and Diane. They have made it from Florida to Arizona and are beginning the journey north to meet us in Montana next month. From there we will continue on to Alaska together.
The first pictures are some of the flowers we see growing in the local area.
Hey,the Weather Chanel just said it is 71 in Fairbanks. Maybe we should go there rather than Montana where there are 6' snowdrifts!!
