One of the old buildings, now housing a dress shop, in Jacksonville

Looking down the main street of Jacksonville, OR

Outline of the distant mountain range.

Drove to Medford, OR via the Old Stage Road. What a surprise seeing this mountain (Mt. McLoughlin, 9495'). I have been to Medford many times and have never seen it before.
We drove to Medford to see my niece and family. It was good to see Patty and Mike and the kids Kimberly, Kenny and Dustin. We had lunch together and then we drove to Jacksonville, OR. Jacksonville was founded in 1851 when gold was discovered nearby in Rich Gulch. There are many stores in the old buildings. We wandered thru several of them. I found somethng I needed in the kitchen store. We also found an ice cream shop and since we hadn't had dessert we stopped and partook of the frozen delight.
