We had breakfast at the Liard Hotspring Lodge, one of the worst breakfast I have ever had and that went for eveyone. Not a place to go back to. We were stopped about 23 miles north of the Hot Springs and joined other vehicles waiting on a pilot truck to escort us thru smoke. A fire had broke out the night before and was still burning.
Along the way we saw grizzly bears, buffalo, horses, a hawk and a couple of moose carcasses. In Watson Lake, YT we stayed at the Downtown RV Park.
After registering we headed for the wash rack to get rid of all the dirt.
A fellow RV’er, Bob Smith, was parked next to Wayne and Diane and had major problems with his motor home. The slide was out and he couldn’t get it in. He did a temp repair on a roller and several of us pushed as he brought the slide in, success we got it in. Now he is off to Anchorage, AK for repairs.
The next day we stopped at the Sign Post Forest so that Wayne and Diane could put up their sign. We also found ours that we had put up in 2006. We stopped a couple of times at scenic overlooks before having lunch at the Continental Divide.
We stopped for the day at the Dawson Peaks Resort and RV Park. We stopped because we found out that they had rhubarb pie and we checked to make sure that they had pie before we stayed.
Dinner that night was Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots and cauliflower and rhubarb pie with ice-cream. Very Good !! After dinner we took a walk down to the lake and then back to the rig. Stayed outside until the bugs drove us in. A very nice RV park.
