We left Banff. AB headed north with our next stop Hinton, AB. We pulled into an overlook and took some pictures of the mountain and a frozen lake. While there a motor home with a SKP sticker pulled in. We all walked over to introduce ourselves. It was Irene and Joe Morrison. Barbara and I met them in Branson, MO at the SKP park. She recognized Barb.
We stopped at Athabasca Falls for lunch and to see the falls. Very impressive.
We stayed 2 days at Hinton, AB catching up on the laundry and some repairs to the rig.
Pressure Pro indicated a low tire. Got out the compressor and aired up the tire and it went back down so called the tire repair folks and had it repaired. It had a piece of wire in it.
That night we spent in Grande Prairie, AB While at Grande Prairie, AB I looked under the trailer and found that the frame was twisted and had some bolts missing. We drove into Dawson Creek, BC the next day and found United Spring and Brake Co. They had all the equipment to straighten the frame and put a support in and replace the missing bolts. 5 hours later we were back on the road.
We stopped at Beaverlodge, AB and took pictures of this large beaver.
We spent an extra day in Dawson Creek, BC because the wind was so strong. We did get in a little sight seeing around the town. We also had dinner one evening at a Chinese restaurant. It was ok, not at all like the buffets in the states. The traditional photos at the start of the Alcan Highway were taken.
